Paul McGrath has welcomed Aston Villa’s new £12million signing Ross McCormack to the club.
McCormack made the switch from Championship rivals Fulham on Thursday morning, as Villa head into the opening game of the Championship season on Sunday.
Former centre-back McGrath echoed the words of the supporters and welcomed the Scottish international with open arms.
“Hope Ross McCormack has a wonderful season at a wonderful club,” McGrath wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Welcome Son.”

McGrath, a Holte-End hero notched up 322 appearances for the club during a seven year period, including the 1994 League Cup triumph against Manchester United.
Arguably the club’s greatest ever player, the Republic of Ireland international is well aware of the effort needed to wear the claret and blue shirt and supporters will be hoping McCormack can write his name into Villa history.
The 29-year-old scored 21 goals for Fulham last season and has an outstanding track record in the Championship.
Di Matteo’s first task is a tricky away fixture against last years losing play-off finalists Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday afternoon.
