Former Aston Villa centre-back Paul McGrath has delivered a message on Twitter stating that he wishes for his former club to claim a victory in their Saturday afternoon clash against Preston.
The Midlands giants travel to Deepdale for the Saturday 3.00pm kick off in the Championship.
Villa are currently in a bad run of form after suffering relegation from the Premier League with five draws from their last five fixtures.
McGrath stated that he believes the players are showing great commitment on his personal Twitter account, but shared that they need to go the extra yard.
Dare I say I wish and want a Villa win v Preston . I believe Aston Villa are showing great commitment as players go the Extra yard #please

Villa are currently stuck in 17th place in England’s second tier after high hopes going into the season.
Chinese businessman Tony Xia took over the club in the summer, appointing former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo.
The new owner has also put his hand into his pocket and splashed out on nine new signings, breaking the same Championship transfer fee record twice in the same window for Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia.
However, the club haven’t got going as of yet with their only win coming against Rotherham, who are currently bottom of the table.
They will see Preston as an opportunity to take the three points with the Lancashire club currently in 19th place.
