Paul Merson has predicted Everton to beat Leicester in their Premier League meeting at the King Power Stadium.
The Toffees travel to Leicester on Boxing Day for the league clash and will be looking to bounce back from their Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool on Monday.
Everton suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park, with Sadio Mane scoring a late winner in stoppage time.
Ronald Koeman’s side are currently ninth-placed in the Premier League and were expected to be competing for a European spot this season.
Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Everton are under-achieving and have the players to climb the table.
“I look at Everton and think they should be doing better than what they are, they’ve got the players to be doing a lot better,” Merson wrote on the Sky Sports website. “Everton need to turn the corner and I see them doing so.”
Merson has tipped the Merseyside club to record a narrow 2-1 victory against Leicester.
The Foxes are currently enduring a difficult campaign after remarkably winning the Premier League crown last season.
Claudio Ranieri’s side are languishing in 15th in the league table, but will still be expected to provide a tough test for Koeman’s side.
Everton have struggled for consistency this season and they have not won consecutive games in the league since September.
The Toffees will hope to put a good run together in their next few matches, with games against Leicester, Hull and Southampton.
In other Everton news, Tony Cascarino claims that this player has replaced Leighton Baines.
