Paul Pogba will end up joining Barcelona, according to Italian superagent Ernesto Bronzetti.

The Juventus midfield kingpin is one of the most sought-after players in world football, and has attracted interest from Premier League big hitters Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United as well as the Continental elite.

Bronzetti, a high-profile intermediary whose clients include Carlo Ancelotti, believes Champions League holders Barcelona are in the driving seat to land Pogba.

“I know Barcelona is after him, it’s likely that sooner or later he’ll end up there,” said Bronzetti. “It remains to be seen if Juve will sell him but Barca isn’t only Spanish club after him.”

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has claimed Juventus are adamant that Pogba, 22, will not be sold for less than the world-record €100million that Real Madrid spent on Gareth Bale in the summer of 2013.

At the exchange rates of the time, Tottenham recouped £86million for Bale but an equivalent fee would now net £72million, making it a more palatable fee for a British buyer.

“Juventus received three offers worth €85m from England, Spain & Germany for Pogba last summer, but turned down all of them,” said Raiola.

I believe Juventus value Paul Pogba at €100m. I don’t know what will happen with Barcelona. Is Bayern an option? Of course.”

King’s ransom: Juventus want a world record-equalling fee for Paul Pogba

Football Insider revealed in September that Chelsea will continue to monitor Pogba this season despite being quoted a world-record fee for him.

It is understood that the Premier League champions submitted a £58.4million offer for the midfielder at the end of the transfer window but the Italian club were not willing to sell at anywhere near that price.

The west Londoners knew it was only a long shot to land Pogba in the recent transfer window, as the player is settled in Turin.

But they want to be at the front of the queue when Pogba leaves Juventus, which is expected to be at some point in the next 12 months.

Mourinho is a big admirer of Pogba and the Frenchman has been on Chelsea’s radar for over a year, with Football Insider revealing in March that they were keen on signing him this summer.
