Tottenham’s next match is a friendly in Australia against Serie A champions Juventus and the club’s star forward Paulo Dybala is especially looking forward to the tie.
The Argentinian international posted a video message on his personal Twitter page to Spurs’ attacking midfielder and fellow countryman Erik Lamela saying, ‘Hi Erik, we’ll be seeing each other very soon… I can’t wait to play against Tottenham.’
Dybala and Lamela have featured together in the Argentina national squad and this won’t be the first time the two South Americans have played against each other after they both featured in two matches between Palermo and Roma in the 2012-13 season.
The Juventus forward is two years younger than Lamela and he enjoyed a successful season in Serie A, helping the Italian giants win their 32nd league title, scoring 23 goals and providing nine assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Lamela also enjoyed a successful season under the guidance of fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, as he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 44 appearances, helping Spurs to a third place finish and a spot in next season’s Champions League.
The upcoming fixture in Melbourne will be the first time Tottenham and Juventus have ever faced each other.
In other Tottenham team news, Spurs forward Son Heung-Min does not fear the fierce competition that he will face in the upcoming season.
