Pedro Obiang is set to become the first signing of new West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, Football Insider sources understand.

The Hammers have had a £4.4million offer accepted for the Sampdoria midfielder following talks between the two clubs in recent days.

Obiang is close to agreeing terms with the London club and the transfer could be finalised in the coming days.

Milan retain an interest in the 23-year-old but fear they have lost out to West Ham, who had a deal in place for Obiang before offering Bilic the manager’s job.

Bilic was appointed the successor to Sam Allardyce on Tuesday morning, as revealed by Football Insider on Monday.
