Piers Morgan has claimed Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is the “best footballer in Britain” following his hat-trick heroics against Ludogorets in midweek.

The attacking midfield ace scored a sensational second half hat-trick in 31 minutes, as his side beat the Bulgarian outfit 6-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The 28-year-old Germany international has impressed many in the new campaign, with six goals and one assist in 10 appearances.

One supporter in particular is Celebrity fan and outspoken social media user Piers Morgan, who posted on his personal Twitter account that Ozil was the best in Britain, as long as Olivier Giroud isn’t in the striker position ahead of him.

Ozil, who completed a move to north London from European giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 has helped the side to win two FA Cup’s during his time at the club.

However, the 2014 World Cup winner has bigger aspirations than the cup competition with his eyes set on a league title, with Arsenal currently in their 12th year without a Premier League trophy.

His contract runs out in 2018 and fans are hopeful that their star player can reach an agreement with the club and extend his stay.

In other Arsenal news, Olivier Giroud is back in training and could be ready to make his return against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
