Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he has a lot of admiration for his Bournemouth counterpart Eddie Howe.
Tottenham travel to the south coast on Saturday to take on Howe’s side in a Premier League match that pits two of the Premier League’s most youthful teams against one another.
Pochettino admits he is an admirer of the team assembled by Howe, who has established Bournemouth as a top-flight side on a budget dwarfed by his rivals.
“In football you need to show your feeling, your way and your philosophy,” Pochettino said, as quoted by the official Tottenham website. “With Bournemouth in this case I admire Eddie Howe, I like him a lot, we share a lot of values and principles and for that I’m happy to see how they develop their game and how they play.
“For me it will be a very exciting game and it will be nice to meet Eddie on Saturday.”
Tottenham remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League after eight fixtures and sit in third place, a point behind league leaders Manchester City and second-placed Arsenal.
They have drawn their last two fixtures in all competitions, including a 0-0 stalemate with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League in midweek.
By contrast, Bournemouth are in 11th in the Premier League table with 11 points from their opening eight matches.
