Harry Kane hasn’t scored in 10 competitive matches for club and country and following his goalless match against Slovakia on Sunday, England fans were quick to lament the striker on Twitter.
The 23-year-old forward topped the Premier League scoring charts last season with 25 goals, but hasn’t scored in a competitive fixture since the 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League in May.
The Tottenham striker was part of a torrid Euro 2016 campaign with England during the summer where he was on the pitch for 239 minutes, but finished the tournament goalless and the run has continued into the new season.
Many Premier League fans are now starting to doubt Kane’s quality and some England fans have called for the striker to take a backseat role in future squads.
Kane has started all three of Tottenham’s matches in the new Premier League campaign.
He will be eager to find his scoring boots quickly, as new signing Vincent Janssen is eyeing the opportunity to take the position upfront and make it his own.
Janssen also had a successful scoring record in the last campaign with 32 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions for Ajax.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have made contact over the possibility of Emmanuel Adebayor returning to White Hart Lane.
