Aaron Ramsey finally made his return for Arsenal after two-and-a-half months on the sidelines with injury, and he posted a message on Instagram to celebrate.

Ramsey was forced off the pitch with a hamstring injury in Arsenal’s only defeat in the Premier League this season, when they lost to Liverpool 4-3 on the opening day of the season.

Ramsey returned to first-team action when he came on in the 77th minute of the game against Sunderland on Saturday with the Gunners leading 3-1.

He made an immediate impact, with an assist for Alexis Sanchez’ second goal of the day, as the Gunners ended up winning 4-1.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud returned to the team on Saturday too, and also enjoyed an immediate impact, scoring two goals with his first two touches of the game.

Ramsey posted a message on his Instagram account on Saturday evening, with an image of him and Giroud, saying they had been out too long. He stated it was “great to be back!”

It's been a long time out for us both! Great to be back! ⚽️👊 #premierleague

Theo Walcott and Nacho Monreal missed out on the Sunderland game through injuries, and new striker Lucas Perez has been ruled out until December.

Arsenal fans will hope that is the full extent of their injury problems as they head into a winter schedule that is packed with tough fixtures.

The Gunners face Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday, with a trip to Ludogorets in the Champions League on Tuesday first.

In other Arsenal news, striker Olivier Giroud sent this message to fans on Twitter following his sensational return to the Arsenal team.
