Rangers fans have been campaigning on Twitter to get their Joe Garner chant to the top of the UK charts over Christmas.

Supporters have kick-started an amusing campaign to urge fans to buy the 60’s hit song, “Glad All Over” on Itunes to show support for their striker.

The English attacker has become a bit of a cult hero at the Ibrox and the Rangers’ faithful love to sing the lyrics “We’ve got Joey Garner” from the pop hit song.

Garner hasn’t scored for the Gers since their 3-0 victory against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership in October and has scored just three goals in total throughout the 2016-17 campaign.

Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:

Celtic currently hold an 11 point lead over Rangers in the league and are expected to extend the difference when they take on Patrick Thistle in Tuesday evening’s clash.

If Rangers can get Garner’s chant to top the Christmas charts at Christmas, it will be the first time the club have topped a table since the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

According to the Daily Record, fans have so far been successful and the song sat at number eight in the UK music charts on Tuesday morning, ahead of superstar singer Taylor Swift.

Along with Rangers, clubs such as Crystal Palace, Swindon Town and Dunfermline have used the song during goal celebrations but it’s the Ibrox side who have got it trending on Twitter with the #GladAllOver hashtag.
