Daniel Candeias played 45 minutes of Rangers’ clash against Hibernian on Saturday afternoon – and Gers fans on Twitter have given a mixed reaction to his perfomance.

The Ibrox giants took an early lead in the home clash with a whipped in free kick from Candeias finding striker Alfredo Mrelos to head home.

However, an equaliser from Simon Murray followed by a red card to Ryan Jack and own goal from Fabio Cardoso ensured the Glasgow side went in at half time 2-1 down.

Manager Pedro Caixinha then made two changes at the interval with Candeias and Lee Hodson falling out of the side for Danny Wilson and Eduardo Herrera.

A number of Rangers fans on social media aired their disappointment at Candeias going off at half time in the 3-2 defeat with many believing him to have played well, while others suggested that he had played poorly.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Saturday’s appearance marked Candeias’ sixth for the club in all competitions following his signing from Benfica in June for a free of £700,000.

He will be hoping for much better days than Saturday afternoon, while Rangers who have now slipped down to sixth place will be looking to bounce back swiftly.
