Clint Hill played 90 minutes against Celitc on Sunday – and the Rangers supporters praised the defender on Twitter.
Rangers slipped to a 1-0 defeat against their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, as they failed to avenge the 5-1 loss in the league encounter.
Forward Moussa Dembele scored the winning goal in the 87th minute, after converting a cross from his team-mate Leigh Griffiths.
Celtic were on top for large parts of the game and Rangers showed great defensive spirit until a cruel late winner.
Centre-back Hill was as the heart of the Gers defence and showed good organisation to manage the backline.
Rangers fans have not been convinced by Hill’s start at the club but appear to have changed their mind on the veteran defender.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Hill, 38, moved to Rangers in the summer and manager Mark Warburton has put his faith in the experienced campaigner this season.
The defender has now made nine appearances for the Scottish giants since his arrival and scored two goals in the cup victory against Peterhead in the last-16.
He has added vast experience to the squad and has played in England with clubs such as QPR, Crystal Palace and Stoke during his career.
In other Rangers team news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter to James Tavernier’s performance against Celtic.
