Garner moved to Rangers from Championship outfit Preston North End in the summer.
He was key player for the Lancashire outfit as they won promotion from League One to the Championship in the 2014-15 campaign and manager Warburton is looking for him to add goals to his Premiership team.
His goal tonight marked his second in eight appearances for the Gers following his move, as he looks to impress Warburton in his rare start.
Rangers are now sat in fifth place in Scotland’s top flight with 16 points from 10 fixtures, they are nine points behind fierce rivals Celtic and will be keen to make up the gap.
In other Rangers news, their fringe player has delivered an honest verdict on his role in the squad.
