Josh Windass has taken a swipe at Manchester United’s £100million target Paul Pogba by claiming the midfielder is overrated.

Reports in the media are circulating that France international Pogba is on his way to Manchester with Jose Mourinho keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

But Windass was highly critical of United’s potential world-record transfer for the youngster as he questioned the 23-year-old’s performances at Euro 2016 culminating in a mediocre display in the final.

The new Rangers signing, who is the son of former striker Dean Windass, took to Twitter during the clash between France and Portugal to share his thoughts on his personal account.

Pogba joined Italian giants Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 after a contract dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United.

He has gone on to make 149 starts for the club, 25 from the bench and has scored on 33 occasions for the Italian club.

Pogba has gone on to win four Serie A titles with Juve, including a runner-up Champions League medal in the 2014-15 season as his side were beaten by Spanish giants Barcelona.

But Windass believes the hype and money surrounding the midfielder is not backed up by his performances.

In other Rangers news, the club have been told to double a bid to land their priority striker target.
