Uganda international Khalid Aucho claims he is in talks to sign for Rangers and is confident a deal will go through.
Aucho, 22, currently plays for Gor Mahia in the Kenyan national league and has been in fine form for his side, helping them to climb to the top of the league.
Mark Warburton has already been busy in the transfer market, with Joey Barton the most recent arrival, and Aucho claims he will soon be joining the Gers ranks.
“Glasgow Rangers have approached me,” said Aucho speaking to Goal. “They are interested in my services and I want to join them.
“Everything is in the initial stages, but I hope it goes through. The club is aware of things and I hope that everything will run smoothly.”
Aucho scored the opener in Gor Mahia’s 2-0 win against Sofapaka on Wednesday, a result which lifted his side to the top of SportPesa Premier League for the first time this season.
The reigning champions are now in pole position to win the league for the fourth season in a row.
Rangers are due to return to the top flight after securing promotion this season and will be desperate to compete with Celtic for the Scottish Premiership next campaign.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are planning a third raid on the Premier League for a Tottenham youngster.
