Celtic and Rangers will go head to head for the signature of Eunan O’Kane this summer, according to a report.
O’Kane has spent the majority of his season with Bournemouth watching from the bench with just six starts in the entire Premier League campaign and the club are reportedly ready to listen to offers.
Bournemouth have utilised O’Kane in an attacking midfield role as well as in the defensive position in his 20 appearances this season and HITC claim that the Ireland international is attracting the attention of the Old Firm duo, as well as newly relegated Aston Villa.
O’Kane is entering the final year of his contract and combined with the fact that Bournemouth are willing sellers, the midfielder could be available for a reasonable price.
The 25-year-old has struggled to nail down a starting place in his last two years with the Cherries and may feel he has to move if he is to make himself a regular fixture in Ireland’s national squad.
O’Kane made his debut for his country in March and will be desperate to be part of the team that flies to France this summer to compete in the European Championships.
Rangers and Celtic are both looking to add quality to their ranks as they prepare to resume their historic rivalry in the Scottish Premiership next season.
The Gers returned to the top flight with promotion from the Championship this campaign and Mark Warburton is on the look out to add some experience and talent to a squad that will need a significant boost to compete with Celtic for the title.
It is believed that Bournemouth have already made O’Kane’s availability known to potential suitors.
In other Rangers news, another international midfielder has claimed he is in talks to sign for the Gers.
