Tottenham target Ryan Sessegnon scored for England Under-19s as they secured a 2-0 victory against Luxembourg on Thursday in their opening European Qualifier.
The 16-year-old netted England’s second goal to seal victory after Arsenal forward Stephy Mavididi opened the scoring within just three minutes of kick-off.
According to reports in the Evening Standard, the Fulham starlet attracted a lot of interest from a number of Premier League clubs in the summer, including Tottenham.
Spurs were joined in their interest by Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool as well as huge London derby rivals, Arsenal.
The youngster has already made eight Championship appearances this season for Fulham in the left-back or left midfield role and is one of the most highly rated teenagers in England.
He has come through the ranks in the national set-up, representing England’s Under-16 and Under-17 squads before making the step-up to the Under-19s team.
England Under-19s next Wales in their next qualifier on Saturday before they take on Greece in their final match of the international break on Tuesday.
