Midfielder Khalid Aucho has claimed that he is on the verge of signing for Rangers.

The Uganda international revealed last month that he was in talks to sign for the Scottish Premiership side from Kenyan side Gor Mahia and says he is now just waiting for Rangers to tie up the deal.

Aucho, 22, gave an update on his future shortly after being crowned the Kenya national league’s best player in May.

“It is just a matter of time before everything goes through,” said Aucho speaking to Goal.

“I have already done everything on my part and all that is remaining is for them to do their part and come for my services.

“It is my dream to play in Europe and this is a massive step in my career. However, until that happens, I will continue to give my best for Gor Mahia because it is my club.”

The combative midfielder, who can play as a defender, has continued his fine form for Gor Mahia, helping them maintain their slim lead at the top of the table.

The Kenyan side claimed four wins from four games with Aucho scoring one goal and providing one assist over the month.
