Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has denied that Arsenal are interested in signing Riyad Mahrez.

The PFA Player of the Year has been linked with a move to north London for much of this summer, with The Sun claiming Arsenal had tabled a £35million bid for the 25-year-old sensation.

Ranieri has fielded questions on the future of his star man even before the departure of N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, but has now stated that Arsenal are not interested in signing the forward.

“I don’t know, who is interested?” Ranieri told the Evening Standard. “Tell me if there is one. Arsenal? No. Riyad will stay with us.”

Mahrez was the star of the show as Leicester shocked the football world to win the Premier League title last season.

The former Le Havre wide player scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions last campaign.

Wenger is looking to strengthen his side after 12 years without a title victory, but the French manager has only been able to secure one major signing so far this summer with Switzerland international Granit Xhaka joining the club.

In other Arsenal transfer news, the Gunners are on the brink of signing Shkodran Mustafi.
