Rebekah Vardy, Jamie Vardy’s new wife, has insisted the striker has not decided his future after offers from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Football Insider revealed that Arsenal have triggered a £22million release clause in Vardy’s contract and are ready to hand him a four-year deal worth £120,000-a-week.
Liverpool have also been credited with in an interest in the Foxes’ striker and the Mirror claimed last week that the Reds had offered a massive £140,000-a-week to choose them over the Gunners.
Mrs Vardy has been receiving a wave of abuse online from angry and desperate Leicester supporters begging her to tell them something about her husband’s future plans, but she refused to give anything away.
Vardy, who is currently in France with England for Euro 2016, has stalled on making a decision to leave the Gunners in the dark.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Friday morning, Rebekah Vardy was asked for an update on her husband’s future.
She said: “Listen, all I can say is Jamie is a grown man, whatever he decides will be right for him in all terms.
“Whether it’s the right decision or the wrong decision or indifferent. It’s his decision and only he can make that.”
Vardy scored 24 Premier League goals this season as 5000-1 outsiders Leicester stormed to the Premier League title.
His form earned him plaudits, an international call-up and interest from England’s heavyweight clubs.
However, Vardy is reportedly “80 per cent” likely to stay with Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes.
In other Arsenal news, the West Ham chairman has been critical of Arsenal’s chase for a Premier League striker.
