Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham must reward Harry Kane with a big money deal.

The 23-year-old has revealed that he is in talks with Spurs about a new contract and is confident of securing his future at White Hart Lane.

The forward is currently set to remain at Spurs until 2020, but has been linked with a move away with Manchester United believed to be interested.

The Evening Standard have reported that Kane is currently on £50,000-a-week and many feel he should be handed a major pay rise.

Ex-Spurs player Redknapp believes that Kane is a special talent and the north London club must offer him a big contract to secure his future.

“Tottenham have to pull out all the stops and give Harry Kane the big money he deserves,” Redknapp wrote in the Mail. “Kane is one of those players and if Spurs were to break their wage structure for him there would be no concerns among his team-mates.”

Kane has become arguably the most important player to Spurs after his breakthrough into the team and has shown his worth since his return from injury.

The striker has scored three goals in two matches after he suffered a 10-game layout this season with an ankle injury, with a crucial brace in the 3-2 victory against West Ham on Saturday.

He has scored a remarkable 69 goals in just 135 senior appearances for the club and is the first-choice forward under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane is also regarded as a major hope for England’s national team in the future and has scored five goals in 17 appearances.

He is a part of the English core at White Hart Lane which also consists of Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker.
