Liverpool have tabled a £29.9million bid for Brazil sensation Luan, according to a report.
Brazilian broadcaster Futebol da Gaucha claim on their Twitter account that the Merseyside giants have tabled the huge offer for the Gremio star.
However, it seems that Jurgen Klopp will have plenty of competition for the services of the 23-year-old.
Brazilian website Zero Hora reported earlier this month that Manchester United were tracking the playmaker, alongside European giants Barcelona and Juventus.
Gremio are desperate to keep hold of Luan, who starred in this summer’s Rio Olympics and have set his price tag at £39million.
The attacking midfielder scored three times in six appearances as his side went on to win gold in Rio.
The Brazilian club’s vice-president Alberto Guerra admitted last week they would consider any offers they receive.
“Every good player is targeted,” he said. “If a proposal arrives, we will analyse.”
It is believed that the Gremio ace is interested in a move to Europe and that has increased after spending time with Neymar, Felipe Anderson, Rafinha Alcantara and Marquinhos this summer.
The one-time capped Brazil international joined the Gremio youth ranks in 2013 from Catanduvense.
Gremio’s number seven enjoyed a successful campaign last season in Porto Alegre, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 22 encounters in all competitions.
Luan, who has two-years left on his contract, has attracted major European clubs this summer after his appearances for the Brazil Under-23’s at the Rio Olympics.
Luan has hit the back of the net 20 times in all competitions since making his Gremio debut in 2014.
