Sol Bamba is closing in on a move to Derby, according to a reliable journalist.
Yorkshire Evening Post chief correspondent Phil Hay has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the former Leeds captain trained with the Championship big hitters all of last week.
Hay reports that a deal is “close” for the experienced centre-back to join Nigel Pearson’s team just weeks after he abruptly quit Elland Road.

This comes after it was reported that experienced centre-back Bamba was in talks with Bury about a drop down to League One.
It is said the ambitious Shakers want to sign the 31-year-old, but they could now lose out to Derby.
Bamba delivered a bombshell by quitting Leeds just hours after the transfer window shut.
Leeds released a statement on their official website to explain the centre-back “left the club by mutual consent due to personal reasons”.
Bamba exited Elland Road even though he was the club captain and contracted to the Championship outfit until next summer.
It came after the 31-year-old lost his first-team place and was omitted from Garry Monk’s squad at the end of August to face Nottingham Forest, a game they lost 3-1.
He had been a regular 18 months and had made 56 appearances for the club.
But the former Leicester man was considered the team’s fourth-choice centre-back behind Liam Cooper and loanees Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson, who joined this summer from Swansea and Torino respectively.
The 49-time international was integral last term and made 33 appearances in league and cup encounters, scoring four goals.
In other Leeds transfer news, Massimo Cellino is working on a deal to clinch a senior signing behind the back of Monk.
