Arsenal are interested in signing Inter Milan centre-back Jeison Murillo after he excelled in Colombia’s Copa America campaign, according to a report.
The 24-year-old defender signed for Inter last summer and has become the latest centre-back to be linked with the Gunners.
Murillo featured in five of Colombia’s six games as his national side conceded just one goal when he was in defence during Copa America.
Tribal Football claim that talks have already taken place between the north London side and the Nerazzuri, with a figure of £15million enough to make Murillo an Arsenal player.
The former Las Palmas defender is renowned for losing his temper on a regular basis. The former Deportivo Cali man picked up four red cards for Inter in 35 appearances last season, and has seen red eight times in his professional career.
Murillo signed a five year contract last summer with Inter following a four year stint at La Liga side Granada, where he also spent two years on loan at Cadiz and Las Palmas.
Inter’s number 24 has 22 Colombia caps to his name, and possesses strong aerial ability as well as being technically gifted.
Wenger is keen to sign a centre-back, with Per Mertesacker ageing, Laurent Koscielny’s future uncertain and doubts being raised over Gabriel’s performances.
Wenger has also been linked with moves for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio.
In other Arsenal news, this Bundesliga sensation is reportedly keen on a move to North London.
