Arsenal and Liverpool have reignited their interest in Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to a report.

Italy publication Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Brozovic may follow former Manchester City manger Roberto Mancini in heading for the exit door this week, as the two Premier League giants circle for the services of the midfielder.

The Nerazzurri confirmed the departure of their Italian manager earlier this week and there is the possibility the Croatian playmaker may well be close behind.

The 23-year-old was the subject of Premier League interest earlier this summer, but it had cooled until the past week before unrest broke out in the Inter camp.

It is said Arsenal and Liverpool have both let their interest in Brozovic, who is rated at £25.6million by his club, be known in fresh bids to prise him from San Siro.

Brozovic has scored eight goals in 51 appearances while at Inter.

Prior to his Inter Milan days, Brozovic played for Dinamo Zagreb, where he netted 13 goals in 96 appearances for Croatia’s biggest club.

The Croatian featured for his country as they reached the last 16 in this year’s Euro 2016 Championships in France, as his side had been hotly-tipped to go all the way.

Brozovic has made 20 appearances for his national side, breaking into a midfield which consists of stars such as Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic.
