Arsenal have begun talks to sign Torino right-back Bruno Peres with a view to tabling a bid, according to a report.
Gazzetta World are reporting that after scouting the attacking full-back in the game between Torino and Benfica on Wednesday, the north London club have begun discussions to sign the Brazilian, who has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Barcelona, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen have also been linked with the 26-year-old Brazilian.
Gazzetta World state that Peres’ agent has already held talks with both parties with a view to a bid being struck, with the Italian club determined to get at least £16.8million.
It has been claimed that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has already had £12.6million and £14.7million bids rejected for Peres, as Torino hold out for what they insist the player is worth. The former Santos player has notched up six goals in 65 appearances for the Serie A club.
Wenger may need cover in the right-back region with Carl Jenkinson continuing his recovery from injury and Mathieu Debuchy looking likely to leave the Emirates, leaving Spaniard Hector Bellerin as the only senior right-back at the club.
