Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is in talks to join French club Bordeaux, according to a report.
Ghannasoccernet, a Ghana-related sports website, have claimed Villa’s star man is a target for new Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec.
It is said the club’s manager wants to bring the Ghana international back to France and that talks have begun with the Championship side about the services of their striker.
The 24-year-old was a summer signing for the now departed Tim Sherwood from French side Lorient for a fee of £8million.
Ayew was part of a side that scored 27 league goals last term, but the former Lorient player shone with his attacking play and the Villa supporters will be hoping he stays at the club.
The versatile attacker who can also operate on the wings has received interest from Europe, most notbly Turkish giants Galatasaray with Villa putting a £9 million tag on their forward.
Manager Roberto Di Matteo and owner Tony Xia have recently informed fans that signing a striker is their priority this summer.
However, the club as a whole will be hoping Ayew remains in the Midlands and helps them push for instant promotion back to the Premier League.
