Reading’s Aaron Tshibola ia set to undergo a medical at Aston Villa on Friday ahead of a £5million move, according to a report.

Football website TEAMtalk claim that sources have told them the Reading midfielder will undergo a medical before completing a £5million transfer on Friday.

The midlands club have already made one signing today, with Verona goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini joining the club, and manager Roberto Di Matteo now looks set to make another swift signing.

The 21-year-old midfielder has come up through the ranks at the Madejski Stadium having joined Reading at the age of 13 and after a loan spell with Hartlepool he is now a first team star for the Royals.

The youngster played under Villa assistant Steve Clarke at Reading during the 2015-16 season and the Scot is believed to have recommended Tshibola to new Villa boss Di Matteo.

A former England under-18 international, Tshibola came through the ranks at Reading before making his debut in 2014 as a teenager.

The versatile midfielder has played on 13 occasions for the Royals and has three years remaining on his contract, which enabled the club to hold out for a major fee.

In other Aston Villa news, Villa flop Charles N’Zogbia has travelled with Sunderland to Austria for a pre-season training camp.
