Football Insider verdict:
Celtic do already have several first-team options in defence, including the likes of Jozo Simunovic, Erik Sviatchenko and Dedryck Boyata. However, they may need some more options next year as they aim to compete in both European and domestic competitions. Rodgers is known to have been monitoring Lens youngster Duverne and he is viewed as a potential target. The 19-year-old Frenchman has enjoyed a superb breakout year and appears to be extremely accomplished for his age. However, he has made his impact in Ligue 2 and it’s yet unknown whether he could emulate that success at a higher level. Rodgers may be better served chasing a ready-made product that can go straight into the Celtic starting line-up.
