Everton are facing a battle to convince striker Graziano Pelle to come to Merseyside, according to a report.

The Mirror claim that the player is eyeing a return to Italy over remaining in the Premier League.

They report that he has set his heart on a move to Juventus and believes that Serie A is on the rise again.

Although it is believed that manager Ronald Koeman will fight hard to secure the striker and can better any contract that the Serie A champions will offer the Italy international.

A new striker is likely to be on the Toffees wish list this summer given that Arouna Kone and Oumar Niasse failed to provide sufficient cover for Romelu Lukaku in the recently completed season.

It is believed that Southampton are looking for between £10million and £20million for the 30-year-old striker who has one more year left on his contract which he signed in the summer of 2014.

The former Parma goal-scorer represents hot property after enjoying another prolific season at St Mary’s Stadium, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists throughout the campaign.

The move could be one of several new additions at Goodison Park this summer as Farhad Moshiri prepares to spend big in order to secure European football for the Blues next season.
