Everton will make a new bid to sign Joel Hart and are ready to offload Joel Robles to create space in their squad, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Merseysiders are set to revive their pursuit of the Manchester City goalkeeper days after Ronald Koeman said he had “no interest” in the player.

It is said that Everton are trying to find a buyer for Robles, who is available for £6million and is a “serious option” for Sunderland, who have lost No1 Vito Mannone to injury.

The Toffees are keen to use the money from a Robles sale to either buy Hart from City or take him on loan. They prefer the latter option, but the Manchester giants may push for a permanent deal.

It is a complicated transfer because of Hart’s wages, which the Sun report says amount to an eyewatering £175,000-a-week.

It has been widely reported in recent week that Hart, who was selected to start City’s 1-0 Champions League play-off second leg win over Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday night in what he admitted afterwards could be his farewell match, could leave either on loan or in a permanent deal.

The Sun claimed that Everton had lined up the axed goalkeeper after he was told by the Manchester outfit to find a new club.

However, it was subsequently reported that the Merseysiders had taken a step back in their interest in the England international due to the cost of the deal and the impressive form of Maarten Stekelenburg.

It leaves Hart in a difficult position as Liverpool appear unlikely to make a move and La Liga club Sevilla, also linked with the shot-stopper, have ruled out a transfer.

The England number one endured a difficult Euro 2016 campaign and made some costly mistakes as the nation were dumped out by minnows Iceland in the last 16.

Hart joined City from Shrewsbury in 2006 and has been a mainstay of the Premier League team during the Abu Dhabi era.

Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo complete his £17million to City this week, leaving Hart low in the pecking order behind the new  arrival and Willy Caballero.

In other Everton transfer news, they have submitted an offer for a Premier League defender who has played under Ronald Koeman.
