Manager Rafa Benitez is still looking to add to six positions to his Newcastle team this summer, according to a report.
The Chronicle has claimed on Friday morning that the Spaniard still remains hopeful of adding a second centre-back, left-back, winger, central midfielder, striker and a goalkeeper this summer.
The Magpies boss is currently scouring the market for players who he feels can help the remain in the Premier League after their title winning Championship season in the last campaign.
He has already tied up Christian Atsu to a permanent deal after he spent the last season on loan from Chelsea, while the report details that the club are in talks for another Blues player in striker Tammy Abraham, while Florian Lejeune is also hopeful of completing a move.
However, it is also understood that Newcastle must also bring balance to his squad with Tim Krul, Siem de Jong, Henri Saivet, Manu Riviere and Kevin Mbabu all named as possible departures.
Benitez has been in charge of Newcastle since March 2016 after taking over from Steve McClaren and he certainly has had time to evaluate his squad and analyse who is good enough to make the step up to the Premier League.
In other Newcastle transfer news, the Magpies are a likely destination for this Premier League attacker.
