Liverpool are struggling to seal a deal for two key transfer targets while a third will almost certainly not be coming to fruition, according to a report.
The Sun claim that moves for Piotr Zielinski, Mahmoud Dahoud and Ben Chilwell have all hit the buffers.
The Anfield club were linked with a move for Zielinski, but their bid was rejected despite reportedly meeting the club’s asking price and it is now understood that AC Milan are looking to hijack the deal.
It is believed that Udinese are making it tough for the Reds after the English giants could not meet an agreement over a fee with the Italian’s sister club Watford over the transfer of Jerome Sinclair.
Klopp has also made moves to bring a young left-back in to cover for the experienced Alberto Moreno.
It is believed that Liverpool had offered £7million with a number of add-ons to Leicester for Chilwell, but the Foxes don’t want to sell the talented youngster with many backing him to become a future England star.
However, the 19-year old is out of contract next year and has not signed a new deal with the champions after spending parts of the recently completed season on-loan at Huddersfield.
Meanwhile the Merseyside club’s hopes of signing Borussia Monchengladbach’s Dahoud appear to have gone completely with the German starlet set to remain in his homeland for another year at least.
However, Liverpool could return with an offer next summer as the Germany Under-21 international’s contract ends in 2018 and it is believed that he has rejected a contract extension.
This summer is proving to be a frustrating scene for Klopp and the club’s fans, but they have already made strides in the transfer market by landing Sadio Mane, Loris Karius and Joel Matip.
In other Liverpool news, Lucas Leiva is open to a move from the Reds to Turkish champions Besiktas.
