West Ham are ready to table a £30million offer for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as Tottenham have gone cold on the striker, according to a report.
The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs have set their sights on Marseille’s Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi leaving the Hammers to go uncontested in their pursuit of Lacazette.
The 25-year-old has previously been a target for the north London side, but it is now thought that they regard the French club’s asking price as too expensive.
However, West Ham have refused to give up their bid to land Lacazette and have made a fresh approach to try and get a deal across the line.
Slaven Bilic is desperate for a top class striker and has also been linked with the signing of Batshuayi this summer.
Lacazette missed out on a place in France’s final European Championships squad held within his home nation, but he has featured for his country in ten encounters scoring one goal.
In the recently completed domestic season the forward scored an impressive 23 goals in 44 matches across all competitions as Lyon finished second to high spenders Paris-Saint Germain.
In other Tottenham news, Sunderland are preparing to sign a 22-year-old from White Hart Lane.
