Tottenham have lined up a bid for emerging England star Ryan Sessegnon, according to a report.

The Sun claim the north Londoners are willing to pay £3million for the highly rated Fulham left-back.

It is said that Spurs scouts have urged the club hierarchy to make what would be a “huge” offer for the 16-year-old to beat rival clubs to his signature.

Football Insider revealed in February that Arsenal had made an offer for the England Under-16 captain, who has been dubbed ‘the next Gareth Bale’ by sources at Craven Cottage.

The Sun report that the Gunners are still tracking Sessegnon, while there is also interest from Liverpool, but Tottenham plan to blow their rivals out of the water by pushing for a sale and offering the teenager the chance to join their squad and be fast-tracked to the top.

Sessegnon has been targeted by the Premier League elite following a series of impressive displays for age group teams.

He made his first appearance against Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup in midweek as he provided further evidence of his precocity.

Sessegnon is one of the most highly-rated young players at the prolific Fulham academy, which has produced a number of outstanding young talents in recent years, including Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts.

He is an attacking left-back who is a prolific goal creator and scorer, much like Bale was when he was coming through the ranks at Southampton.

Sessegnon, whose brother Steve is also on Fulham’s books, scored three goals in six matches for England Under-16s and has now progressed to England Under-17s, making two appearances at that level.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have opened talks on a £19.5million deal.
