Arsene Wenger will decide to blood a mixture of youth and experience when Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest in the third-round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, according to a report.
The Evening Standard are reporting that youngsters Chris Willock, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Chuba Akpom will be pushing to make the matchday squad in the visit of the City ground.
Striker Akpom, 20 has nine first-team appearances to his name, midfielder Reine-Adelaide, 18, has two, while winger Willock, also 18, will be looking to make a first impression for the senior team.
Additionally, the club’s £2.4 million signing Krystian Bielik is also in contention following his £2.4 million switch from Legia Warsaw in January last year.
It is said trio Kieran Gibbs, David Ospina and Rob Holding will be the senior players amongst the squad, as Wenger will most likely rest the majority of those who were involved in their 4-1 win over Hull on Saturday.
Wenger’s side were dumped out of the competition by Championship opposition last season, as they were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday during the fourth round stage.
