Jose Mourinho has landed a staggering £2million bonus for steering Chelsea to the Premier League title, Football Insider sources understand.

The Blues manager has been rewarded as part of the incentive-based deal he signed when returned to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in 2013.

Mourinho, who is the highest-paid manager in the world ahead of Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti, is paid a basic salary of around £10.5m-a-year by Chelsea that is augmented by top-up bonuses.

It is understood that he will collect £2m for leading Chelsea to their first league title in five years as well as a bonus for steering them to the League Cup in March.

As reported by Football Insider, Mourinho has opened talks with the London club about extending his contract, which has two years to run.
