Outspoken pundit and former midfielder Robbie Savage has predicted Tottenham to start their Premier League season with a defeat against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
The north London club are currently preparing to take on the newly promoted Magpies at St. James’ Park with both sides looking to start the new campaign with a victory.
However, the last time Spurs made the trip up north they suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat on the final day of the 2015-16 season, despite Newcastle having already suffered relegation.
Now, Savage believes they will suffer a similar fate and has tipped a 2-1 win for the Magpies over Tottenham in his predictions for the weekend.

Tottenham have won three of their last six matches against Newcastle, but they have also lost the other three encounters between the two.
Spurs are going into the new campaign looking to improve on last season’s second placed finish, while the Magpies are aiming for survival.
Both have had disappointing transfer windows with the north London side so far failing to bring in a single player, while Rafa Benitez has spoken publicly about his dismay.
But, the pair will be looking for their squads to pick up all three points in the Sunday 1.30pm kick off.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Merson has given his verdict on Spurs’ title chances.
