Roberto Firmino has warned his Liverpool teammates that they must be fully focused against Saturday’s opponents West Brom.

The Brazil international is expected to start for the Merseyside giants, as Jurgen Klopp looks to rely on him once again to provide the goals that will secure three points against the Baggies.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Firmino declared that Liverpool must respect Tony Pulis’ side but use their own style to break the “tight” defence of West Brom down.

“West Brom are a good team who are improving,” Firmino told Liverpool’s website. “They have got some good results against other top teams, so we’ll need to be really focused and concentrated if we’re to win this game.

“I have watched some of their matches and they play very seriously. They play with a typical English strategy: they attack, but they keep it tight.

“We have to respect their style; however, we should try to impose our own style and way of playing upon them in order to do our best.”

Former Hoffenheim forward Firmino is likely to start through the middle of Liverpool’s 4-3-3 system, alongside Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool’s first-choice striker has been superb in a red shirt this term. Four goals in nine league and cup encounters has established Firmino as Jurgen Klopp’s first-team attacking spearhead, keeping out the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings.

Firmino and co. could finish the weekend on top of the Premier League pile if they secure three points and if Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham all drop points.

In other Liverpool news, this international duo’s form has been recognised with a call-up.
