Brendan Rodgers has revealed he would still like to add to a few more Celtic signings before the end of the transfer window.
Talking the club after his side’s 2-1 Scottish Premiership win over Hearts on Sunday Rodgers said he still hopes to make more signings but there were issues beyond his control
“I would like to add a few more but it’s just time,” Rodgers said, as quoted by the official Celtic Twitter account.
Rodgers has secured four signings this window, most recently on Sunday morning when Scott Sinclair completed a move worth a potential £4.5million from Aston Villa.
The winger quickly made his mark and scored the winner in Sunday’s match, an 81st minute strike after Leigh Griffiths presented him with the ball inside the box.
The Bhoys’ other signings are Moussa Dembele, Kolo Toure and Kristoffer Ajer as Celtic bid to win the Scottish Premiership for a sixth straight season.
Rodgers took time to discuss the arrival of Sinclair, praising his desire to get the winner on his debut.
“Couldn’t have asked for any more, only three hours sleep on Friday night and then travelled up yesterday,” Rodgers told the club’s Twitter account and also praised the winger’s winner.
“An outstanding goal. If you track speed of his run, it’s that hunger & desire you see from a great player,” the manager added.
The club confirmed the signing of Sinclair from Aston Villa on their official website and the Englishman has joined on a four-year deal.
Rodgers had been desperate to set up a third reunion with the former England under-21 international after working with him at Chelsea and Swansea.
