Brendan Rodgers could still secure his defensive transfer target in time for European qualifier, according to a report.
Celtic travel to Gibraltar on Tuesday for the first-leg of their Champions League qualifier against Lincoln Red Imps.
The Scottish Sun report that transfer target Shane Duffy could still make a move to Celtic in time to play in the crucial fixture.
Rodgers has already expressed his interest in the Blackburn centre-back Duffy in this window and the player is available for £2million as he enters the final year of his contract.
The 24-year-old played for Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016 and would provide some much needed cover for the Scottish giants who are currently limited in their defensive options.
Defensive duo Jozo Simunovic and Derrick Boyata are both going to be absent for the tie on Tuesday, leaving them short of numbers in defensive positions.
Duffy made 42 appearances in all competitions last season for Championship side Blackburn Rovers and was previously on the books at Everton as a youngster.
Rodgers has already signed attacking pair Moussa Dembele and PJ Crossan in this window, but will be desperate to add some defensive back-up promptly.
In other Celtic news, their fans have reacted to Dembele’s debut as the forward is tipped for greatness.
