Everton manager Ronald Koeman believes Liverpool have a “good chance” of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Reds top the league table after 11 games as they have recorded an impressive 26 points under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp.

The German boss has introduced a high pressing style to Anfield, which has won over supporters as they have already notched up 30 goals.

Former Barcelona centre-back Koeman provided his verdict on the blistering start from their Merseyside rivals.

“It’s still too early to say who will be the favourites, but I have been impressed by Liverpool so far,” Koeman told ESPN. “Maybe that is not what you might expect the Everton manager to say, but they have been playing some very good football and deserve to be at the top.

“They have goals in their team and this is what all successful sides need. Of course they can be champions this season, they have a good chance, but they are not the only contenders.”

Koeman’s side will host Liverpool on December 19 at Goodison Park, with the Toffees currently eight points behind their neighbours in the table.

In the meantime Everton will take on Swansea on home soil on Saturday, while the Reds travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton on the very same day.
