Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to add four new players to his squad this summer, according to a report.

The Mirror claim that the former Southampton manager is looking to recruit two new midfielders, a goalkeeper and a winger before the start of their 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

The Toffees are expected to spend big this summer under new billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri.

The report says that Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin could be the first through the door at Goodison Park for an expected fee of around £20million.

The 26-year-old has previously played under Koeman at Southampton but remains contracted to United until June 2019.

Schneiderlin is currently competing with France at Euro 2016, but is yet to feature in the tournament.

The move would allow Everton to add proven quality to their ranks whilst also providing cover for Gareth Barry in central midfield.

Steven Pienaar, Joel Robles and Tom Cleverley have all faced criticism for underwhelming performances this season and could find their first team chances limited if Koeman opens up his chequebook over the coming months.

In other Everton news, the Toffee’s could be about to finally lose their battle to keep John Stones at Goodison Park
