Norwich are preparing a £2.5million bid for Liverpool starlet Sergi Canos, according to a report.

The Eastern Daily Press claim that the Canaries will make a formal move for the Spanish winger.

The report claims that Bristol City have already had a £2.5million bid accepted for the 19-year-old but Norwich will match that figure in the hope of tempting the former Barcelona academy player to Carrow Road.

Football Insider reported on Monday that Canos is set to quit Liverpool following a contract wrangle with the club.

The Liverpool Echo claim Canos and his representatives have been locked in a stand-off over his wages with the Anfield hierarchy.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Merseysiders from Barcelona in 2013, is said to be demanding wages of around £10,000 a week, but Liverpool are reluctant to meet his demands.

Canos spent the recently completed domestic season on loan at Brentford and was a key player for the team, scoring on seven occasions while assisting fives times in 38 appearances.

Jurgen Klopp gave him his first Liverpool appearance in their last league game of the 2015-16 season against West Brom.
