Polish sensation Piotr Zielinski is the subject of “concrete” interest from Liverpool, according to Serie A club Udinese.

The midfielder has been closely linked with a move to Anfield, and Football Insider revealed in February that the 21-year-old is being extensively scouted by Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Merseysiders are ready to pay around £12million for Zielinksi, who is in one of Europe’s most highly rated young central midfielders.

Zielinki revealed earlier this month that he has spoken to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Udinese confirmed the player is being pursued by the Premier League giants.

“There is interest from Liverpool and it is concrete interest,” Udinese director of sport Cristiano Giaretta told Italian radio station Radio Punto Zero, as quoted by the Mirror.

“He is doing very well and has the eyes of the Premier League on him.”

Zielinski, who is on a season-long loan at Empoli, has been one of the stand-out central midfielders in Serie A this season after establishing himself as a mainstay of the side.

The Poland international has made 31 league appearances this season for the 12th-placed team and weighed in with a highly creditable four goals and six assists from midfield.

Zielinski, who is in line to play a starring role for Poland in this summer’s European Championships after earning 13 international caps, has only a year remaining on his Udinese contract.

He has also spoken of his interest in featuring at Anfield alongside players of the calibre of Philippe Coutinho.

In other Liverpool transfer news, the Merseysiders are monitoring two Arsenal players.
