West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan Andy Carroll’s luck after the striker was ruled out until October with a knee injury.

Fans took to the social media site after news emerged of the forward’s latest injury, which he picked up during the Hammers’ Europa League play-off tie against Astra Giurgiu on Thursday.

The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker confirmed on Sunday that he was “devastated” at being sidelined after the team to face Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon was announced.

Carroll’s name is just one of a huge injury list at the Olympic Stadium, which includes first-team stars Aaron Cresswell, Manuel Lanzini and Sofiane Feghouli.

But it is in the forward ranks where Bilic’s attacking options have been decimated, with Carroll the second to be hit by a shattering blow this week after new £20million signing Andre Ayew was ruled out for four months with a torn quadricep.

Fans believe that a new attacker is needed, after taking to Twitter to express their dismay at Carroll’s latest injury.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

When he returns from injury, Carroll will be hoping to continue the form he produced at the end of last season, which included a memorable hat-trick against Arsenal in April.

Despite his form towards the end of 2015-16 campaign, Carroll missed out on a call-up to the England squad that flopped miserably at Euro 2016.

In other West Ham news, this striker could be on his way to east London after his father said it would be good move for his son.
