Simon Mignolet has hit back at supporters saying he’s now a bench warmer at Liverpool with a Twitter message saying “some say bench warming, I say bench pressing.”
The 28-year-old Belgian goalkeeper has recently lost his place to German shot stopper Loris Karius after the latter returned from injury.
He hasn’t featured in either of the four previous clashes for the Reds and some supporters have commented on him now being a bench warmer for the club.
However, the former Sunderland ace has hit back at those claims with a Tweet on his personal Twitter account stating he calls it “bench pressing” referring to himself working hard to get back in the Liverpool net.

Mignolet started each of Liverpool’s first six fixtures in the new campaign, after Karius suffered a broken hand injury in a pre-season clash against Chelsea.
However, the Belgium international is questionable in goal and continued to worry fans this season, keeping just one clean sheet against Burton and conceding eight goals across his matches.
Jurgen Klopp is also unlikely to change his goalkeeper selection with Liverpool currently performing well in the league, sat in fourth place and two points behind league leaders Manchester City.
