Yannick Bolasie is close to joining Everton after he agreed personal terms and passed a medical with the club, according to a report.
Sky Sports have claimed on their transfer centre blog (10.58am) that the Merseysiders will pay £28million to sign to winger from Crystal Palace.
It is said that Bolasie will move for an initial £22.5million, with another £2.5million of add-ons and the potential for a further £3million further down the line.
Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solkehol claimed last Wednesday evening that Bolasie has been offered a five-year contract as the Toffees prepare to match their club-record fee.
The reported Bolasie fee is set to equal the current Everton transfer record, which stands at the £28million they spent to prise Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in the summer of 2014.
Goodison manager Ronald Koeman revealed on Saturday evening that Everton club are working on a number of deals and expect two of then to be completed next week.
“We are waiting for two, three new players and the board is working very hard to bring players in,” Koeman said, as quoted by the Sky Sports transfer centre blog. “I don’t talk about names because that’s not respectful to the clubs and the players but I hope we will get two new players next week.”
One is almost certainly have been Bolasie after Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew admitted the winger was “close” to joining the Merseysiders.
The 27-year-old winger was on the substitute’s bench for Palace’s 1-0 defeat against West Brom on Saturday but came on in the 66th minute to a standing ovation from the Sellhurst Park support.
However, boss Pardew has admitted that it will be possibly the last time that the Palace faithful see the DR Congo is a home shirt.
“It will be disappointing if he is going to move,” Pardew told BBC Sport, as quoted by the post match reaction blog (5.31pm). “The deal is close but he will go with our best wishes.
“I think it is fair to say his heart and soul is elsewhere. Yannick is all about heart and soul and if it is not with us then we have to say goodbye.”
Koeman has also been on the trail of Sunderland’s Lamine Kone and the Sun report that terms for Kone are expected to be concluded within days of Bolasie’s capture being announced.
Moyes claimed the Black Cats want the centre-back to sign a new deal and remain at the Stadium of Light.
The two Premier League stars are set to link up with new signings Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye and Ashley Williams in Koeman’s new-look squad.
In other Everton transfer news, a former Toffees wonderkid has moved to Kilmarnock on loan.
