Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong is attracting a lot of interest from other clubs, according to a Sky journalist.

The 19-year-old signed a new four-year contract at St. James’ Park on Thursday, but he could depart the Magpies on loan after a season with Coventry in League One last campaign.

Sky Sports’ north of England reporter Tim Thornton has claimed on his personal Twitter account that a number of clubs are pursuing the young attacker and has named League One side Bradford as a possible destination.

However, the journalist has claimed that there is only an outside chance of the Bantams securing the Newcastle forward.

The youngster, who was named in the League One Team of the Year last term, after scoring 20 goals in 40 league matches was called up for England’s Under-20 squad on Thursday ahead of their friendly against Brazil next month.

Despite signing a new contract the teenager is struggling to break into the first-team at St. James’ Park, with Dwight Gayle and Aleksander Mitrovic ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, he could get some match time against Brighton in the upcoming weekend, as Gayle and Mitrovic are both ruled out due to the six-day concussion rule after they both left the field with head injuries in midweek.

In other Newcastle transfer news, Rafa Benitez is still on the lookout for new signings.
